Tour Down Under 20 - 25 January 2010
Day 1 – Wed 20th January 2010
Depart Geelong at 6.30 am. Arrive Adelaide 5.00 pm.Accommodation at McLaren Vale Motor Inn in heart of McLaren Vale wine district.
Day 2 – Thursday 21st January 2010
Stage 3 of TDU; Unley to Stirling. Watch the start of the Stage at Unley then travel to Aldgate in Adelaide Hills. Able to ride sections of the route and to be out on the course when riders go by. Evenings activities up to participants.
Day 3 – Friday 22nd January 2010
Stage 4 of TDU. Norwood to Goolwa. Ride all or part from McLaren Vale to Goolwa, the last section on the TDU stage course. This is a particularly scenic ride of about 70km. Afternoon visit to local wineries, go to TDU social function in Adelaide.
Day 4 – Saturday 23rd January 2010
Stage 5 of TDU. Snapper Point to Willunga. Watch the start or stay at motel. This stage goes 3 times past our front door and another 2 times just up the road. The best stage to watch as it will decide the winner with the main mountain climb. Free to ride as much or as little of the course as you want. Evening parties< will be in this part of town.
Day 5 – Sunday 24th January 2010
Final Stage of TDU on street circuit in CBD. Mix at the start and find a good vantage point to watch. It is a 4.5km circuit, 20 laps. Not sure if we will be able to ride the circuit, but will take bikes just in case. Join in the festivities after the finish.
Day 6 – Monday 25th January 2010
Depart McLaren Vale at 7.00am. Return to Geelong about 5 pm.
Cost = $595 pp
Inclusions:
Twin share accommodation for 5 nights. Pool, BBQ, shops, restaurants, cafes close.
Transport and transfers for participants, bikes and gear to and from Adelaide, and daily to stages and for social activities during the tour.
Exclusions:
Food and drink. Participants responsible for all own meals.
